Eva Dimitriadi — Sound Designer

Eva Dimitriadi's Headshot

From a young age, Eva was particularly attracted to drawing and painting so she initially pursued a degree in Art. However, she soon realised that her true passion was music and sound since she had already been taking music lessons as a child at a conservatorium. As such, she decided to focus on music and went on to study for a degree in Musicology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.

During her music studies, Eva discovered that she really enjoyed audio post-production. This motivated her to continue her studies in sound engineering at IEK AKMI, where she trained in sound mixing, editing, and recording, and pursued a professional career in sound design.

With a genuine appreciation for teamwork, Eva is passionate about the creation of accordant atmospheres that combine a good balance of SFX, and music, as well as the absence of it. She especially admires interactive concepts, which is why she appreciates inventive sound design in video games.

Eva currently works as a sound designer and has gotten involved with animation, live-action, and radio spots. She plays the pipe organ, and electric bass and has also trained in singing. She loves telling stories through sound, trying to highlight their key moments acoustically and adding an element of surprise when needed.

Eva begins her process by determining the appropriate soundscape for each concept, such as its spatio-temporal realm, the intended mood, the existing or non-existent world it is trying to portray, and any interesting technological advancements or properties pertinent to the particular era under portrayal.
